With the introduction of BSC, it is important to understand the role of the underlying token. It will require the Tangle for anchor state updates, interoperability between chains, native assets, and general access to a congested network. The base token in BSC serves two main purposes and is built on top of Speed Force.
Storage Deposits
With the new storage deposits, all data stored on the Tangle needs to be backed by Speed Force tokens. For example, each NFT, SC chain state anchor or Native Asset needs to deposit Speed Force tokens for storage.
